Slope Blur
Effects/Blur
A high-quality multi-pass blur that uses the gradient/slope of the input heightmap to drive the direction of the blur.
The effect works best with smooth gradients, harsh changes of the gradient/slope or noise will cause distortion issues with low sample counts.
The Slope Blur serves a wide range of possible effects from chiseling for stones to edge wear and smearing effects. A great way to drive the effect is by using the "Fractal Sum" node as height input. Using the "Interpolate" parameter of the "Fractal Sum" it becomes very easy to dial in the desired effect.
